“Where there is Light, there will also be Shadows”

Literally, light is something that let us see better through the darkness. It reflects the colors that is hidden throughout the shadows. Figuratively, light is the guiding path that gives us enlightenment when we are sad, courage when we are scared and hope when we all seems hopeless. While shadow is something that hides our dreams and hopes in a place where we cannot see. It is the obstacle that pressures us in our life.

But what we fail to see is that shadows is a product of light.

*picture is taken from Dan Reyes’ blog http://snakeside.wordpress.com/

Shadow is a product of light and the closer we get near the light, the bigger/longer will be our shadows.

The more good we are, the more that sin will tempt us away from it. The more closer we are from our goal, the more hardwork must we make to reach for it.

But remember, the light is not our goal. Light is only a guide for us so we may see clearly our goal and dreams so we may reach for it. And shadows is not our problem. It is only something that obstructs our vision to see a clear path towards our goals.

“It is right to be contented with what we have, but never with what we are.”

James Mackintosh

If we look at it, the word “contentment” may seem as a good word with no negative sides, but eveything has their pros and cons. Let me now explain to you the two sides of contentment.

The Good Side

“Being poor or being rich is not a matter of what you have, but a matter of being contented with what you have” Mitch Espiritu

I believe that when we judge ourselves, there is no poor person in this world. All of us are rich. We are all rich because God gave us everything we need. It’s just around this world, around the country or even around you. Some people just don’t take the time to obtain the richness that God provided for us. People sometimes just seat on the floor and beg for food and money even though they can stand up and work hard for them to get what they need.

Wealth is all about contentment. If you have clothes to wear, food to eat, a house to keep shelter, and someone who can you keep you happy then you are one of the richest people in the world.

The Bad Side

“There are 3 P’s in doing things:
P-Palpak
P-Pwede na
P-Pulido” Elizabeth Seton School

Most people are contented in the Pwede na stage but if they work harder they can reach the Pulido stage. That is the negative side of Contnentment. We tend to settle at lower stages even though we can reach higher. That is why people often do not reach thier goals. People keep on being contented on thier low-caliber works that is why other people do not see thier true potential. These hidden traits and skills continue to deteriorate until it is completely gone. That is why we should continue honing our skills, doing our best and be able to reach the Pulido stage.

“Be contented with what you have and not with what you can give.”

Let me start with this quote:

“And in the end it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years. “             Abraham Lincoln

Every person in the world has life and it is generally measured by years, but what separates/differentiates us from the others is how we live our life. Some live their life following their dreams. Some live their life making a living for their family and some waste their life trying to please everybody. When we get older, we try to reminisce some of these times that made an impact in our lives. For me, one of these times is this just ending schoolyear (Schoolyear 2007-2008, 2nd Year highschool).

In my 11 year stay(and counting) in seton, I have never experienced something like this.(in a good way)
Let me start with my section, II-Tagum City. So far, this is the best section that I have ever been a part of. This section faced a lot of grueling obstacles in the last 10 months. Several problems that may be shallow for some but deep in the hearts of others. Problems that made us shed tears and made our hearts break. But for every tear there will be hope, and for every heartbreak there will be lessons learned. Some of us may have learned our lesson, but still some of us may improve more.

Next, our batch, The sophomore ophanims. These are the people that made the phrase “cheering practice” mean “fun”. We may not have defended our title as the cheering champions(even if made great formations … damn, what a cross) but still, we made our batch reach a ‘hole ‘nother level.

Lasty, the teachers. I am proud of my teachers because unlike some, they didn’t just point our strengths and accomplishments but also, they emphasized our weaknesses and mistakes and taught us how to overcome it. Truly, our teachers taught us several valuable lessons that can make us live our life right(mostly taught in the last few days of the schoolyear). Lessons that may be difficult to understand fully, but with a little discipline and teamwork, these may be the most important lessons that we may learn in life.

Now let me take this time to give my thanks and appreciations to several people.
Thank you, Tagum City, Sophomore Ophanims and all the people who helped our batch make it this far because without all of you, my second year would be miserably miserable.
Thank You for adding a year in my life and giving life in my second year in highschool.

I Have A Dream

Discrimination is a major problem in the world. It might not be as major as poverty or terrorism but it is still very evident in this world. Every person in the world today has at least been discriminated once in their life. They may be discriminated by their gender, culture, height, weight, and even color.

Black slavery may have been abolished several years ago but racial discrimination still continues until now. People continue to make fun of African-Americans for no particular reason at all. An example of this kind of discrimination is the jokes. Did you know that if you type “black jokes” in the search bar you get a list of more than a hundred different web sites about this topic and if you type in “white jokes” you get redirected to “black jokes” because no one makes “white jokes”. Why? Why do people make “black jokes” and not “white jokes”? Why, are the black the only ones that can make us laugh? These are some proofs that the justice system in our world is weak. We want justice but things as simple as jokes prove that we are unjust. We tend to discriminate rather than make this world a better place, but why?

Who are we to discriminate? Who are we to judge other people? Why, is this a contest? Black versus white …. NO! This is what you call life and in life you get to meet many people, who have distinct characteristics, different personalities and unique abilities. We may all be different but we are all God’s creations, we are all people. We may differ in appearance but in God’s eyes we are all equal so that is why we don’t have the right to judge other people.

There was a man, the reggae singer Bob Marley, who had this idea. He believed that you could cure racism and hatred by injecting music and love into people’s lives. When they were scheduled to perform at a peace rally, a gunman came to his house and shot him down. Two days later, he walked out on that stage, and sang. Somebody asked him, “Why?” He said “The people, who are trying to make this world worse, are not taking a day off. How can I? Light up the darkness!”

Music is the cure for racism because when we listen to music we don’t care if the one singing is black or white, male or female, young or old; we only care of their song, their work, their masterpiece. If people are always like this there will never be racism again, if we only focus on their contributions in this world and not their color, if we only focus on their inner characteristics and not their outer appearances.

I have a dream and my dream is that every person in the world may be filled with music in their hearts and love in their life so that there will never be any discrimination in the world.
Peace Out!

Intrapersonal – may problema ka: deal with it, forget it, sucide. again ung choices mo lang talaga dito ay ung first two

Verbal-Linguistic – right choice of words lang naman to eh

Spatial, Musical – itong dalawang to ay ung exception to the rule kasi may mga tao talaga na born great

Isa pang root ng intelligence is having knowledge about the subject kahit konti lang pero pag wala ka talagang alam may isang solution lang dyan “OBSERVE” isa ako sa mga konting tao na gumagawa nito(based on my observation) minsan kasi, try to observe becuse you will understand many things just by observing.

As a conclusion, the roots of intelligence are only two having a little knowledge about the subject(observing) and good decision-making. Kaya focus on this two things para maging isa kayo sa pinaka intelligent people in this world.

“If I you had to live for a hundred years, I want to live for a hundred years minus one day, so I wouldn’t live without you”

The above quote is from Anonymous

Pag titingnan natin, masasabi nating “ang sweet naman” pero kung babasahing mabuti this is the most selfish, inconsiderate quote of all.

Is that what you call LOVE??

spending time with your love one then leaving her/him at the time when he/she needs you the most

If this is what you call LOVE then you are the most ignorant person in the world

LOVE is supposed to be “an intense feeling of affection and care towards another person” so do not ever follow the first quote in this post but put into heart this quote

“In our life there is a single color, as on an artist`s palette,
which provides the meaning of life and art.
It is the color of love.”

The worth of a life is not determined by a single failure or a solitary success.
this is quote from the movie “The Emperor’s Club”

the above quote expresses that our life is a very long journey.

Our life is a very long journey that is why one mistake cannot end our life nor can one triumph bring us everlasting glory. Some point in our life we must have to continue the journey to redeem ourselves from our mistakes or to continue to receive blessings that may come our way.”                    Mitch Espiritu

Jelly Beans Prayer
from E-mail messages for the soul

RED is for the blood He gave
GREEN is for the grass He made
YELLOW is for the sun so bright
ORANGE is for the edge of night
BLACK is for the sins we made
WHITE is for the grace He gave
PURPLE is for His hour of sorrow
PINK is for our new tomorrow

A bag full of jelly beans colorful and sweet
Is a prayer, is a promis, is a very special treat

I am a Christian
From E-mail messages for the soul

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting “I’m clean livin’”
I’m whispering “I was lost”
Now I’m found and forgiven

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride
I’m confessing that I stumble
And need CHRIST to be my guide

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong
I’m professing that I was weak
And need HIS strength to carry on

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name

When I say …”I am a Christian”
I’m not holier than thou
I’m just a simple sinner
Who received God’s good grace, somehow

*In everything we do let us not forget that without God, none of these would have happened*

WITH GOD – ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Born for a reason
By Mitchell-David Espiritu

“When I was born unto this world
When I couldn’t say just even a word
I thought of something, what could it be?
Why did my parents chose to give birth to me?

Several years came to pass by
I thought of answers to my question-why?
Maybe for money, when I graduate and go to work
Or maybe for washing the dishes and cleaning the spoon and fork

But what if everything I said was wrong
They gave me what I need and provided me everything I own
They love me, cared for me, and accepted me for who I am
I felt that they were the shepherds and I was the lamb

Now, as a conclusion
I have answered the question
My parents chose to marry and give birth to me
Because they want to feel what it’s like to have a happy family”

Poem na ginawa ko last year (1st year health assignment/project)
